MENTAL HEALTH IS A STATE OF WELL-BEING
According to WHO (World Health Organization), mental health is a state of well-being in which the individual realizes his or her own abilities, can cope with the normal stresses of life, can work productively and fruitfully, and is able to make a contribution to his or her community.
THE TERM 'MENTAL HEALTH IS FREQUENTLY MISUNDERSTOOD
The term is often used as a substitute for mental health conditions such as depression, anxiety, schizophrenia, etc. Rather than "what's the problem, it's more about "what's going well". (cited from Beyond Blue).
MENTAL HEALTH IS ABOUT WELLNESS RATHER THAN ILLNESS
Mental Health is complex. Even if a person does not have mental health conditions, this does not mean that their mental health is good. Likewise, you can be diagnosed with a mental health condition even if you're feeling well in all aspects of life. (cited from Beyond Blue).
MENTAL HEALTH IS NOT THE ABSENCE OF A MENTAL HEALTH CONDITION
Mental Health is the way we think, feel and develop relationships. (cited from Beyond Blue).

Types of mental illnesses
Occasionally, mental health concerns can happen to anyone. However, a mental health concern becomes a mental illness when signs and symptoms become frequent and can cause persistent stress and affect your ability to function. (WHO)
