Hi there! Salam Sejahtera enggau penuh meri tabi basa ngagai semua! (This means is “Greeting” : so that you may experience prosperity, or something along those lines.) My name is Justine Anak Jarop and you guys can call me Justine or Jang. For your information, “Jang” is one of the nicknames often used by the Iban people in Sarawak and with this I am one of the indigenous people from Sarawak. In 2020 (during the pandemic).
I am very grateful to have been given the opportunity to continue my studies in Bachelor's Degree at one of the Public Universities in Malaysia which is University Putra Malaysia. Well, I just want to share about the reasons why I am involved in the field of Counseling and Mental Health. From the time I was a child until now which is 20 years old, I feel that the important thing in our lives as teenagers is to increase our “Self-Motivation” in knowing ourselves more deeply to get through our lives even better. So with this aspect I would like to use the Counseling Platform as one of the platforms that can further enhance the dignity of our nation’s children in terms of their Mental Health, Education, and Career Development.
I would also like to reach out and engage with communities that are in rural areas when I become a Psychologist or Counselor Educator in the future to help them in terms of Education and Career Development. This will further increase their knowledge of educational and employment development and elevate their quality of life by making some preparations in making the proper adjustments. To do that I will use my Charity Club that I have created in 2020, namely "Intu Terabai" which advocates for Mental Health, Culture Heritage and Animal Rights. This is the thing I look forward to in my life. Lastly, I believe that by doing some charity projects and give back to my surrounding community will further strengthening the social institutions of our society.
“Always help and love each other; Small action can make a Big Impact and Spread Love everywhere you Go and Voice The Voiceless.” - Justine Jarop.
